Deep Tissue, Relaxation, and Remedial Massage Melbourne

Massage is one of the best ways to ease tension & relax the body & mind. We offer a variety of styles of massage, everything from deep tissue, relaxation & remedial massage in our beautiful clinic in Melbourne.

Remedial / Deep Tissue / Sports

Remedial massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, targeting more specific areas of tightness and restriction. It works to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body, to allow for tissue detoxification and healing. This type of massage is ideal for sports people, chronic pain syndromes, injuries and those with severe muscle tension.

Swedish Relaxation

A gentle and soothing massage to help you let go of stress and reconnect with your inner self.

Tui Na (Chinese Remedial)

Tui Na is an oriental bodywork therapy that has been used in China for thousands of years. With the application of massage and acupressure along the meridians and acupressure points, Tui Na moves stagnation and establishes a more harmonious flow of Ki (vital energy) through the body.

Tui Na massage tends to focus on specific problems in the body, stimulating the meridians relating to the troubled area. It is by nature a fairly firm massage, though your therapist will tailor the treatment to suit your individual needs.

Lymphatic Drainage

MLD is a very specific technique that stimulates the body’s lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the body’s first line of defence against disease and infection; it transports metabolic waste, excess fluid, toxins and bacteria out of the body.

A MLD involves light mechanical stretching of the connective tissue. This moves the lymphatic fluid under the skin towards the lymphatic nodes, where fluid is filtered. An MLD is great for detoxification, reducing oedema due to injury or lymphedema and is great pre and post surgery. An MLD will also improve your immune system, and (according to research conducted by Bruno Chikly) the body will produce 30% more immunocompetent cells post MLD treatment.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu massage, Acupressure, Acupoint palpation, Cupping, Moxa, Guasha

Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese form of massage that supports and strengthens the body's natural ability to heal and balance itself.

Based on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu uses finger/palm pressure, acupoint palpation, cupping, moxa, guasha and gentle manipulation of the limbs and joints to stimulate the flow of energy in the body, thus releasing blockages and stagnation, and restoring harmony.

In additional to being a deeply relaxing experience, Shiatsu can help to alleviate pain and illness, regulate the autonomic nervous system, stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems and contribute to greater health and wellbeing.

Shiatsu is performed fully clothed without the use of oils.

Chi Nei Tsang

Abdominal detox massage, Internal organ massage therapy

A traditional Taoist form of massage therapy which is applied to the abdomen; chi nei tsang is used to stimulate and manipulate muscles and connective tissue, organs (stomach, intestine, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, uterus, kidneys and lungs) and systems (lymphatic, circulatory and nervous) located in the abdomen.

Internal organ massage is believed to release regional stress and tension, prevent stagnation of blood, improve the flow of energy into the abdominal region, allow detoxification and enhance the immune system.

Chi Nei Tsang massage is particularly useful to prepare for colonic hydrotherapy, as it helps to soften stored wastes and relax the abdomen for a smoother and more effective release.

In the words of our talented therapist Evelyn, "Chi Nei Tsang is the greatest practice that ever happened!"

Lomi Lomi

Lomi Lomi originated from the South Pacific and was traditionally used during rites of passage, as a transformational massage and healing system. What makes Lomi Lomi such as special style is the combination of rhythm, breath, energy and massage, which ultimately leads to very powerful releases on all levels.

This treatment is done primarily using the entire arm span. Long flowing strokes sweep across the span of the body, moving stagnation at all levels - emotionally, physically and spiritually. Lomi Lomi can be practised as relaxation or deep tissue massage.

Ka Huna Bodywork & Healing

For relaxation, stress relief, soothing and healing

Ka Huna Massage is a unique & truly powerful experience that aids in healing through love, awareness, balance and compassion. It can help mend an aching back or an aching heart, but most importantly it provides an opportunity to reach a level of deep restoritive relaxation...a reset for the mind, body and spirit.

Feels like you are being massaged by the ocean...

Where waves of oceanic strokes flow across your body, gently releasing stress, anxiety, grief of anything that you choose is no longer serving you, leaving you in a deeply mediative relaxation.

It is unlike any other massage...

In a fluid dance like motion, forearms, hands and elbows are used to connect with each muscle with continuous soft and deep flowing strokes to nurture the body, quieten the mind, allowing you to just... let...go.

However it is much more than a physical experience...

For it facilitates healing on mental, emotional and spiritual levels. It takes us on a journey of self discovery, allowing us access to unexplored areas within ourselves. And it is here that we are offered the profound experience of letting go of our attachment to the past, our reigns on the future and simply yet every so beautifully surrender into our bodies within the present moment.

It takes you on a journey towards change...

And where that change takes you is ultimately up to you. For Ka Huna is not a cure, it is the doorway that offers each and every one of us access to our innate ability to heal ourselves.

Indian Head Massage

This ancient technique has been practiced for over a thousand years in India, being passed down from generation to generation. It involves a sequence of energy balancing techniques, lymphatic drainage, acupressure points, stretching and general massage to the shoulders, neck, face and scalp. The techniques work on both the physical and ethereal body to soothe and relax the nervous system, stimulate the circulation and lymph, and relieve joint and muscle stiffness.

Indian head massage is an excellent therapy for tension headaches and eyestrain, both of which are common in the modern computer age.
